Embracing Alkebulan Once Again: Restoring Africa’s True Name and Reawakening Cultural Confidence Worldwide
Alkebulan is believed to be one of the earliest known names for what is now called Africa. The term, whose meaning is often interpreted as “Mother of Mankind” or “Garden of Eden,” predates colonial impositions and reflects a sense of home, origin, and belonging. By restoring the name Alkebulan, the people of the continent reconnect with their ancient heritage that was disrupted and, in many ways, erased by outside forces.

Ubuntu
I am because we are
You rise higher because of the generations that came before you, and future generations will rise because of you. This strength comes from your ancestors, your community, your culture, and your support systems. Every choice and action shapes the shared future of Africans everywhere.
This is the heart of the Ubuntu philosophy. It teaches that a person becomes fully human through their connection with others. Your achievements are never yours alone. They are shaped by the people who guide you, support you, and walk beside you. In the same way, your actions influence the people who come after you. Ubuntu reminds Africans that their identity is not individual, but collective, rooted in a deep sense of shared humanity.
When Africans embrace this way of living and see themselves as a single global family, they strengthen their cultural, social, and economic foundation. Ubuntu turns unity into a source of power and reminds us that what lifts one person can lift us all.
I am because you are. We rise when we choose to lift one another, and every step forward becomes a platform for someone else to stand a little higher. Those who struggle don’t have to climb alone, they can rise on the shoulders of those who’ve already walked the hard paths. This is the spirit of Ubuntu: our lives are connected, our progress is shared, and our strength multiplies when we carry each other.
